A bio, in brief
Being endlessly fascinated by the many wonders and ways of our universe, I am continually captivated by how employing the lens of science can allow for such exploration, understanding, and deeper appreciation of our aliveness.
As a plant biologist, I am particularly drawn to the stories that plants can tell us about the forces that move and shape our world across varying dimensions of time and space, the ecosystems we call home and influence, and who we are as individuals and in community.
Currently, I am investigating how host and environmental factors shape crop microbiomes as part of my PhD research in the laboratory of Devin Coleman-Derr. I seek to improve our understandings of how community interactions impact plant growth and stress tolerance, and, in turn, relate to food security and responses to climate change.

In addition to a passion for all things botanical, I am involved in efforts to help promote the wellbeing of human and other natural communities through applied research, education, mentoring, and advocacy for diversity and inclusion.
